Pictures might be enough for some, but we wanted to show the Nissan GT-R Spec V in action. Then this little video clip landed in our lap along with some juicy details of the new Super-Godzilla.
While we actually don’t have a clue what is being said in this video (Anyone understand japanese?), we can assume Nissan is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging Porsche, Lamborghini, Chrysler, Chevrolet, and anyone else who wants to step up and play with the new GT-R. Sounds like a perfect time for another ‘Ring showdown.

Just when you thought there was nothing new left to see or read about the supercar for the masses NissanGT-R super-coupe, a brand new prototype manages to turn up at the Nurburgring, and allegedly scorches any and all times set by previous GT-R test mules. The new GT-R car is supposedly a prototype for the upcoming Spec V version of the new R35 GTR and according to initial reports it will lap the Nurburgring 20+km track in just 7m 25s.This latest video above shows the car as it undergoes testing and reveals a number of important clues about the new model. For the observant watcher, the key difference between this latest prototype and the stock GT-R is the new front bumper with extra cooling intakes in the integrated lip spoiler. Other changes include some racing-style alloy wheels and new, larger, brake calipers – possibly with new carbon-ceramic discs.Previous generations of the Skyline GT-R, including the R32 up to the R34, included high-performance models dubbed V-spec. These cars featured improved braking packages, lowered suspension, and plenty of carbon-fiber and aluminum, and the latest generation is expected to be no different. Already there are rumors that the car will develop up to 550hp and could weigh up to 250kg less than the portly standard mdoel.
Late last year, Nissan insiders revealed a lighter and more powerful Spec-V model would be expected to arrive by 2009 and this video gives us a taste of what this car is capable of doing.
