The 2009 has now claimed the fastest time ever for a production car around the Nürburgring. A lap of 7:22 is just a few seconds quicker than the 7:26.4 lap set by the 2009 . Not that it comes as much of a surprise, since the ACR is the most brutal version of the already-unforgiving , whereas the has taller gears and is still built for driving well on the road. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V Lapping The Nurburgring In Record 7:59:32

With the supercharged LS9 V8 reportedly making around 567 HP, we know that the -V is one quick sedan. But we had no idea just how fast it would be until it recently set a lap time of 7:59.32 on the Nordschleife. That makes it the fastest production sedan to ever be officially recorded on the German race track. And just in case you thought GM was just pulling your leg, the has released this video showing the world what’s a sub 8 minute lap looks like.

So how much would you pay for the car of your dreams? Well, the official bar for the highest price anyone has ever paid for any car anywhere has just been raised with a 1961 250 GT short-wheelbase Spyder got bought at for €7,040,000. Converted into American dollars, that’s about $10,976,000.

Goodness that’s a lot of money.

Sure, I’d probably drop some serious coin for the car of my dreams if I actually could, but $11 million? Really? The thing that amazes me is the winning bidder is some British , . Have you ever heard his jockeying firsthand? I haven’t. The  conspiracy clown in all of us might just say this was all just a massive publicity stunt by to stir up interest for their new , but it sure does make you wonder.

In at Germany’s famous , ’s brand new 2009 -V completed a lap of the legendary Nordschleife in 7:59.32. This blistering time appears to be the fastest ever publicly documented for a production sedan.

With an estimated 567 HP, tightened suspension, magnetic ride control, super-spiffy electro-mechanical rear end and a killer six speed in the ’s arsenal, John Heinricy, an executive with GM Performance Division piloted The -V to it’s sub-eight-minute bragging rights. With pretty much everybody anything with wheels, duking it out for Nordschleife glory, we can’t help but wonder how the Germans feel about all this…
