Hot on the heels of RENNTech’s announcment, Brabus has given us their Brabus B63 S tuning package to compete with the RENNtech version. So what have the Brabus folks bestowed upon us? It’s not quite RENNtech output, but by adding free-flow catalytic converters, high-flow air filters and tweaking the ECU with their new ignition and injection maps, Brabus bumps the 6.2-liter V8 from 457 HP to 530 HP, and sends the torque from 442 to 479 lb-ft and gives you enough to propel the newly tuned beast to a top speed of 197 MPH.
And if by some chance that isn’t enough, Brabus also offers a selection of limited slip differentials to satisfy the most discerning tuning connoisseur; match one up with a similarly varied selection of multi-piston brake upgrades to achieve your desired level of “daaamn.” Full release after the jump.

The horsepower wizards over at RENNtech have focused their wrenches on the already potent Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to create what they consider to be a fitting heir to the Mercedes 6.3, appropriate given the name and the fact that latest C-Class has grown nearly to the size of that legendary sedan. To achieve this proper Überness, they’ve released the 6.2 AMG V8 from the grips of unnecessary restriction and managed to squeeze out nearly 100 additional horsepower. The sleek sedan achieves up to 548 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque thanks to new engine management, long-tube headers and new pipes. To handle all of that extra power you might want to opt for the new RENNtech brake kit and, just to be safe, throw in the height control suspension system for some up and down goodness and you have yourself one mean machine. Full details in the release below the jump.

The name alligator is an anglicized form of the Spanish “el lagarto”, meaning “the lizard”, a name which early Spanish explorers and settlers in Florida called the alligator. Currently, there are only two living alligator species: the American Alligator and the Chinese Alligator. Until now.
According to Car magazine, under a Project named Alligator, Aston Martin & Mercedes Benz are planing a wide-ranging tie-up to collaborate on engines, hybrids, transmissions and even entire platforms.
Here are the highlights of the so called Alligator project: Read the rest of this entry »

Loads of spy photos of the forthcoming 2010 Mercedes E-Class emerge, with spy shots giving us a fresh look at both the 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class and the 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG. Just like previous spy shots, both the headlights and taillights of the next E-Class remain heavily disguised, but the side contours are almost distinguishable despite the heavier camouflage over both the front and rear wheel arches.
As for the technical specifications of the 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG (internally named the W212 E class), power is expected to be supplied courtesy of the 6.2-Liter AMG V8 featured in the current Mercedes E Class, and 0-62 mph time should remain consistent with the outgoing model (about 4.5 seconds). Completing the package will most likely be the usual array of AMG-tuned goodness, including a high performance braking system, sport suspension system, etc.
Hit the jump for the full range of spy photos. Read the rest of this entry »

Too many times in our lives have the only spots available in the parking lot been handicaps. But like most of us we’re hoping, we keep circling the parking lot waiting for someone to come out and free up a spot no less than 2 miles away from our desired destination.
Apparently that’s too much to ask for some however. In this case, Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs is caught showing his affinity for parking in those coveted spaces.
From what we gather Job’s has been parking in handicap spaces for a while now, making the running joke if its a physical ailment or a mental one. Read the rest of this entry »
