Pictures might be enough for some, but we wanted to show the Nissan GT-R Spec V in action. Then this little video clip landed in our lap along with some juicy details of the new Super-Godzilla.

While we actually don’t have a clue what is being said in this video (Anyone understand japanese?), we can assume Nissan is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging Porsche, Lamborghini, Chrysler, Chevrolet, and anyone else who wants to step up and play with the new GT-R. Sounds like a perfect time for another ‘Ring showdown.

And not being content with just a video, we also wanted more details of the Nissan GT-R, and a couple of quick phone calls over to Nissan of North America got us the following:

- The SpecV’s will maintain the same 478 horses as the stock GT-R, but you’ll be able to boost mid-range torque up to a whopping 449 lb-ft via an electronic overboost control switch on the steering wheel.
- The SpecV’s “overboost” will enable up to 1 minute, 20 seconds of additional torque before shutting off.
- Weight savings of 44 lbs. from new ceramic Brembo brakes added to other weight savings like carbon fiber everything, giving the new super-Godzilla a weight savings of 132 lb than the base GT-R.
- New carbon fiber rear wing to up the car’s downforce.

So while some good improvements have been made for sure, without some serious hardening to the engine/transmission combination plaguing current GT-R owners, is it worth it?

Just a month after the first spy photos came in giving us the rebirth of the legendary Mercedes-Benz Gullwing, spy photographer Rich Truesdell has captured yet another impeccable look at the future supercar – one that this time offers a high resolution view of the model testing in the California desert. As you’ll see, the next Mercedes Benz Gullwing still boasts an exceptional amount of camouflage, but the demeanor of the original 300 SL is still present, with a bit of imagination anyway.

In addition to the various photos they captured of the Gullwing, Automotive Traveler also published a number of details for what they believe we can expect from the future model. Power is likely to come from AMG’s 6.2-Liter V8 outputting around 600 horsepower, mated to a 8-speed transaxle. Curb weight is expected to come in under 1,700 kilograms with the help of an ultra-stiff aluminum and carbon fiber space frame, the result of which will be a 0-62 mph time of about 3.7 seconds. And in terms of size, the next Gullwing is expected to be slightly larger than the outgoing SLR McLaren, with early estimates giving the Merc a length of roughly 4,650mm, a width of 1,950mm and a height of 1,250mm.

As for its name, rumors now are hinting the model will be known as the SLS, instead of its former SLC moniker. However, a quick search of the USPTO database doesn’t show either currently being registered to Daimler, so its likely the final version of the Gullwing won’t be known as either the SLS or SLC.

Loads of spy photos of the forthcoming 2010 Mercedes E-Class emerge, with spy shots giving us a fresh look at both the 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class and the 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG. Just like previous spy shots, both the headlights and taillights of the next E-Class remain heavily disguised, but the side contours are almost distinguishable despite the heavier camouflage over both the front and rear wheel arches.

As for the technical specifications of the 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG (internally named the W212 E class), power is expected to be supplied courtesy of the 6.2-Liter AMG V8 featured in the current Mercedes E Class, and 0-62 mph time should remain consistent with the outgoing model (about 4.5 seconds). Completing the package will most likely be the usual array of AMG-tuned goodness, including a high performance braking system, sport suspension system, etc.

As for the stock Mercedes Benz E Class, the new front fascia is an interesting mix of the C- and S-class’ front ends, with an upright grille framed by two-piece headlamps, a sculpted front bumper and LED indicators. The sides of the new E incorporate a C-class-inspired swage line, while the rear taillights wrap half-way around the fenders.

Our friends at MotorAuthority, who love pasting their name all over things, have published some pics taken of the soon to be released Audi R8 Spyder driving around without any camouflage. This particular Audi R8 Spyder has been spotted testing on the famous Nurburgring in Germany.

Besides the rag top, the first thing we noticed is the lack of the Audi R8 coupe’s trademark “sideblades.” The side intake has transformed into a more traditional scoop. Hiding under the top, there’s suspected to be more air intakes located behind the seats and the mandatory set of roll-over bars. Breathing through those intakes will be either the standard 4.2-liter V8, or a 5.2-liter V10. This particular car is likely a V10 model, as evidenced by the rear diffuser and two-stake grilles shared with the V10 Coupe. We’re assuming the menacing flat black paint won’t be a factory option.

A forum member over on VWVortex caught a mildly disguised Nissan 370Z on the freeway, and the two shots shown here give us better glimpse of what to expect when the new Nissan Z debuts in Los Angeles this November.

It’s been widely reported that the upcoming 2010 Nissan 370Z will be shortened by 4 inches and will ride on a slightly widened track, but without a profile shot, it’s hard to tell. The rear three-quarter view shows redesigned rear windows that are slightly smaller, with the bottom edge angling steeply towards the roofline. The rear glass of the hatch is sunken in, and incorporates a small spoiler into the trunk lid, while the fenders appear wider than the outgoing model and the tail lamps are equipped with LEDs.

Up front, the re-styled headlights are obscured by the camouflage, but the redesigned front fascia is easily identifiable, as is the tweaked hood, which features a slight power bulge flanked by two accent lines stretching from the windshield to the bumper.

This is definitely more of an evolution instead of revolution, but it should be interesting to see how Nissan implements some of its new styling cues from the Maxima and GT-R into new Z.

It looks like McLaren and Mercedes are completing one more variant of their SLR before making their break-up official. This time, the Mercedes McLaren SLR Speedster was recently spotted testing at the Nurburgring, looking fine in its chess board camouflage. But, the super secret next-gen Mercedes SLC is out there too, planning to make both the slow-selling SLR and the Audi R8 obsolete in one fell swoop.
What we should expect from the SLR Speedster, as well as video of its ‘ring run after the jump.The McLaren SLR Speedster, scheduled for a July 30th debut, will be 440 lb lighter than the hardtop and be limited to just 75 units. Expect the blow-out special SLR Speedster to outperform the SLR with a near 220mph top speed, but also expect the SLC to blow that figure out of the water courtesy of an impossibly powerful supercharged engine.

Technology to the rescue! Thanks to reader Jacob and his handy camera phone, we’ve caught wind that there were not 1, but 3 lightly camouflaged, Georgia-plated Porsche Panameras out at the Denver airport yesterday. This terrible trio was spotted at the Denver International Airport, making a practice round for what will, no doubt, be common for the Porsche once they hit the streets.

What’s interesting is that they’re at the airport, with luggage, which goes in a trunk — and yet, no trunk action. Alas…

Wow, we’re happy when we manage to get a couple spy photos of a test car. But it must be Christmas, because this time around we got a whole Video of one. And this is no standard car either. Ladies and Gentlemen, allow us to present the next iteration of the Mercedes SLR McLaren. This is the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Speedster!

Rumors have been floating recently about a chop top AND windshield-less version of the SLR. And this video goes a long ways to validate that the Mercedes SLR Speedster McLaren will be an actual car. Reports say the Speedster will weigh 200kg less than the current SLR, mainly because it will be missing the top half of the car, but also because air conditioning will not be necessary in this car.

The other fun rumors about the car is the SLR Speedster’s top speed is rumored at around 218mph and it can go from 0-300km/h (180mph) in 26 seconds; only 75 are going to be produced and will cost more than a $1 million.

It still is very early in the development cycle, but stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

For those waiting to see what the future holds for the 2009-2010 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class, Auto Express has just published an article detailing what they’re thinking we can expect from the new model. According to the publication, the new Mercedes CLK will be based on the new C-Class platform, but still marketed as a completely unique model (no surprises there). Some exterior styling elements will most likely be borrowed from the C-Class, but the cabin should be distinctly different when compared to the C-Class, thus distinguishing itself from its four-door counterpart.

As for what engines and power output, we’re told there will be two diesels – a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit generating 204 hp and a 252 hp 3.0-liter V6 – will be available, as will as 3 petrol V6 engines producing 300bhp, 354bhp and 428bhp (the latter of which will feature twin-turbochargers). The great part for Northern States is that Mercedes’ 4Matic four-wheel drive system is also expected to be available on the higher-powered variants, but will remain traditionally rear wheel drive.

And the last bit of info we’re told, is about the amazing CLK63 AMG. Supposedly Mercedes’ tuning arm AMG will be let loose on CLK to produce a high-performance flagship. Insiders are suggesting AMG will also unveil a Black Series version with a mighty 525bhp powering all four wheels.

There doesn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary here, but if you’re keeping tabs on the status of next generation Mercedes CLK Class, you’ve now got the latest.

From the teaser image on the Mercedes AMG website, we can be pretty sure the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series is set to be unveiled in July. But for those of us that can’t wait, a series of new spy shots have been released capturing the SL65 AMG Black at an extremely close range, giving us one of the best looks yet of the forthcoming model.

How does one put into words the demeanor of the SL65 AMG Black Series’ styling? A model injected with such an immense dose of steroids that it drips sheer, unadulterated power.

To us, it portrays a feeling of power more so than even the McLaren SLR. And this is still with the covers in place, so final judgment must of course be reserved for the finished product, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the new SL65 AMG Black Series becomes the most covetable modern-day SL produced.
