2009 BMW 555i Spotted In California?

Attentive AutoAlerts reader John was doing his standard errands when he spotted something slightly off about this new BMW 5-Series parked in Long Beach, California. The badging indicates that this is a 555i BMW.
Those who have been following the latest trend from the company know the current rumor is BMW’s aging E60 is supposed to be getting a version of the 4.4L, twin-turbo N64 V8 good for about 400 horsepower and 450 ft.-lbs. of torque.
The word on the street was that this latest BMW 5 Series was set to sneak out in calendar year 2009, so the chances of it running around in public are fairly slim and of course BMW sources are saying they have no knowledge of that model existing (though, what else would they say?).
Most likely, though, this is a regular 5-series owned by someone who purchased an extra badge and did the work themselves.
BMW registered the 555 as a trademark, back in July of 2007: [tess2.uspto.gov] I’d put my money on it sporting the same twin turbo V8 as the X6
