Louie Edgi, a cancer patient currently residing in one of the horribly frigid areas of Norman Wells, Canada, has just won the Cash and Cars Lottery, which supports the Alberta Cancer Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. The prize? A Koenigsegg CCX supercar. The catch? Norman Wells is a remote town up in God’s Country with only one 12-kilometer dirt road. And that’s not even the worst part.

Chrysler may be running around like a chicken without a head, but the craziest bird in the roost, the Dodge Viper, is out dancing in the fields. Even while companies worldwide prepare to ransack Chrysler, the Viper sales are unflinchingly continuing. Although Chrysler sales are reportedly down an amazing 32%, Dodge continues to produce and sell Vipers at a rate of 100 units per month. Not just that, but the Viper ACR – that $105k track-prepped super-snake – is all but completely sold out… not so much in spite of the poor economy, but because of it. Chrysler reports that with stock portfolios rapidly losing their value and dollar values plummeting, investors are seeing the Viper ACR as a good investment opportunity due to its potential discontinuation and therefore retaining a high resale value - all with smile inducing dividends, too.

Now that Lewis Hamilton has secured the Formula One championship, supercar fans around the world are asking when he’ll get his hands on that rare McLaren F1 LM. The incredibly valuable supercar – initially reported at $4 million but now apparently worth closer to 8 – was promised to the budding young driver if he won the title. However, the condition was that he win both the drivers title and, together with team-mate Heikki Kovalainen, lock up the constructors’ title for the team, as well. Although he won the drivers’ championship, the constructors’ crown went to arch-rivals Ferrari, but since McLaren chief Ron Dennis is such a good sport, he’s renegotiated the terms.
If Hamilton manages to repeat his title victory with a hat-trick – that is, take another two championships – he’ll get his hands on the bright orange supercar. That’s quite a challenge, but Dennis called it a “small price to pay for three world championships.” Indeed, but by then McLaren will have a whole slew of supercars on the market for Lewis to choose from. In the meantime, he’d better keep his head down and focus on the prize.
