Owners of the new Mercedes S-Class have yet another reason to bask in the superiority of their premium luxury sedan. The reason this time is the W221 S Class took the highest honor in the latest J.D. Power APEAL study, earning the position of top-performing model by outscoring both the Lexus LS and Porsche 911.
The award is just the latest trophy Mercedes-Benz can put on their mantle by J.D. Power. As you may remember, earlier in the month the E-Class and CLK-Class were both given Gold Awards for boasting the highest vehicle quality in their respective classes, while Mercedes’ Sindelfingen manufacturing plant managed to earn J.D. Power’s Platinum Award, meaning it’s the assembly facility with the best delivered quality worldwide.
The full info on this latest J.D. Power APEAL study, as well as the victory for the Merc S-Class, can be found in the press release after the jump.

But, Toyota has gone a step further by adding a human recognition system to their night vision system. As with any bleeding edge technology, there are some limits however.
